Why I decided to start a blog…

I’ve always thought about starting a blog and honestly, I’ve started lots of blogs and put up about 3 posts and then life got in the way and they eventually just never got updated. There were a few reasons why I decided to start this blog.

Therapy: About a year ago I had lunch with a friend and she had some articles published by Scary Mommy. This was a big deal and I couldn’t be more proud of my friend. When we were talking about her article she said she didn’t really mean for it to be published but it was more for her own therapy. This comment really resonated with me because I have so many thoughts on my mind that I always keep bottled up and maybe if I wrote them down it would also help me out. If you don’t want to start a blog but want to write down some of your thoughts more for self-help, feel free to send them my way and I will post for you. Sometimes it’s easier to write about stuff when people don’t know it’s you writing it.

Also make sure to check out my friends post because she really is an amazing person and part of my Mom Tribe. Link to article: https://www.scarymommy.com/secondary-infertility-struggle/

Girl, Wash Your Face: When people ask me what my favorite book is, I always respond “The Outsiders”. The reason I love this book is because it’s probably one of the last books I read (yes in 8th grade) and let’s be honest it was a pretty awesome book! I have always considered myself more of a magazine type of girl. So if you want me to join a book club, it’s not going to happen. But if you have a magazine club….. 😉

Anyway, I am part of this group of girls on facebook that workout together. I work out just as much as I read books so when someone posted about this “Girl, Wash Your Face” book I thought I will NEVER read that. A book about working out is my worst nightmare so I didn’t think any more about it, until a friend of mine was down in the dumps. I reached out to another friend for advice because I just didn’t know how to handle the situation and she said, “She needs to get the book Girl, Wash Your Face.” This was the second time in a week that I heard about this book so I was now intrigued. I quickly purchased it on Amazon (Yes I am addicted). I started reading the book and it’s not a book about working out or depression, it’s a book about becoming the best you that you can be. Again I thought about really starting a blog so I went on Pinterest and the first pin I found about starting a profitable blog I clicked on.

Taylor Stanford Blog: The first pin I found on Pinterest about profitable blogs took me to this Blog post that walked me through starting a blog from the very start. I read the whole post and she talked about all the money she makes and bla bla bla. These posts are everywhere on the internet so I never know if they are actually real or not, however, this one was different. I clicked on her Bio and started reading about it and she was from NEBRASKA! Yes, you read that right! She lived in the same state as me and honestly only about 30 miles from where I live so then I got this feeling that if she can do it in BFE, so can I! I followed her instructions and this is how I created this fine blog that you are looking at today. I haven’t made any money off of this blog but when I do my goal is to reach out to Taylor and take her out for lunch and thank her.
